Oh Canada!

our neighbors

40 acres of raspberries and Mt. Baker in the background

Geoff, having fun with deconstruction:)

OK, so we didn't actually move to Canada...however we are a mere 1.13 miles from the boarder. We are so looking forward to setting up our new space. For those of you who haven't heard the story already, we've moved to a raspberry farm in Lynden, WA. This used to be a dairy farm, and since the owners have switched to raspberries, they now have a bunch of unused buildings. We're renting the old milk barn. This is by far our best workspace yet...1,700 sq. ft., cement floor, natural light...and cheap! We're gonna hit the ground running; Odd Duck Press and Molnar Craft will be fully operational before you can say "Do you want gravy with your fries?".

A Great New Way to Fund Your Art!

I recently discovered Kickstarter. It's a pretty innovative way for people to ask for and receive funding for creative endeavors. Basically, you pitch your idea and post it to the kickstarter site and individuals can donate to you. If the $ goal is met, kickstarter takes a 5% cut and the rest is yours. This seems like a good alternative to so many highly competitive funding opportunities out there.

Ghost Gallery Grand Opening

Ghost Gallery - Seattle, WA. from Damien Jurado on Vimeo.

The Grand Opening of the new Ghost Gallery space in Seattle was a huge success. Curator Laurie Kearney created a "Best of Ghost Gallery" exhibit featuring artists that she has been working with during Ghost Gallery's experimental phase as a traveling exhibition. One of the highlights of the gallery is a nook dedicated to small works. I love that the videographer took a close-up of my pup!

Gossamer Collective Wedding Fair

I love the Gossamer Collective. They are a group of inspired, motivated women who have pooled their talents and resources to create a vibrant art gallery/boutique that features local Seattle designers and emerging artists. Saturday, March 20th, they are hosting a vintage themed wedding fair which focuses on high quality, hand crafted, and yes, affordable design. I'm thrilled to be a part of this event. Odd Duck Press will be offering custom letterpress invitations and hand bound books. Stop by for a glass of champagne!
